Pete Squires

For my dear friend Chris and her family:

While I know that no amount of consoling can soothe this tremendous loss, I know in my heart of hearts that your dad has found a place of peace and wonderment. The void felt by his passing is an indicator of the abundance he has brought to the lives of those whose lives he has touched. His body wore out but his spirit and his memory will live with the same abundance. My heartfelt condolences on his passing.

Pete died while waiting for a lung transplant. If you want to be an organ donor, please sign your drivers license and be sure your family knows your wishes. What greater gift is there than to give the dying life?

The Cave

We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark;
the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light.

There are men - now in power in this country

There are men - now in power in this country - who do not
respect dissent, who cannot cope with turmoil, and who be-
lieve that the people of America are ready to support
repression as long as it is done with a quiet voice and a
business suit.

The world is

A wonderful realization will be the day you realize that
you are unique in all the world. There is nothing that is
an accident. You are a special combination for a purpose
and don't let them tell you otherwise, even if they tell you
that purpose is an illusion. You are that combination so
that you can do what is essential for you to do. Don't ever
believe that you have nothing to contribute. The world is
an incredible unfulfilled tapestry. And only you can fulfill
that tiny space that is yours.

conquest

If there is one principle more deeply rooted in the mind of
every American, it is that we should have nothing to do
with conquest.
--Thomas Jefferson

Bonus Quote

We know that dictators are quick to choose aggression, while
free nations strive to resolve differences in peace.

The reason the world today is becoming increasingly
besmirched is that the evil that resides in all of us is
winning. Our inherent goodness is losing the race.
Wickedness has tied its shoelaces together. Let us vow
today, right now, to scrape off these hateful scales and
try to be as good as we can be. Let's not harbor any ill
will for anyone. Let us be the first of a new order to be
charitable and caring. Let's break away from the flock of
black sheep and graze the clean grass, show them how good
it tastes. Not the bitter thistle that most are content to
chew through.

ONE GIANT LESBIAN BEAR PAW

Star Jones Leaving 'View' For Exciting Opportunity To Wallow In Obscurity
We try to subject ourselves to ABC's menopausal kaffee klatsch The View as rarely as possible, though we have to admit we were looking forward to watching their latest loud-lady addition, Rosie O'Donnell, squeeze the living breath out of Star Jones with one giant, lesbian bear paw. Sadly, however, that display of alpha-gal dominance may not play itself out, as Page Six reports Jones is leaving the show:

ABC will announce this week that the big-boned talking head is out at "The View," a source close to the inner workings of the late-morning gabfest tells Page Six. What network brass won't say is that she's being unceremoniously ousted at the direct behest of the show's grand dame Barbara Walters and the incoming Rosie O'Donnell.
The View made Jones the highly visible star she is, but the job has become but one subdivision of an ever-growing multimedia empire: From E! red carpet sycophant to non-best-selling memoirist, to tiny, interactive love guru, Jones is looking at a promising future filled with possibilities. And Jones' husband, Al Reynolds, hopes she picks one quickly because mani-pedis, Dolce & Gabbana leather pants, and premium-label poppers don't pay for themselves.

Although this news fills me with delight, it seems Babs is ousting the most heinously annoying woman in show business for the woman who ties her for the honour.

Let us hope Star is headed for obscurity! AOL constantly runs a series of "love lessons" she has written, and if I see one more, I think I'll lose my cookies. This woman never belonged on TV in the first place. As long as Rosie works within reasonable decibels, I can take anyone over Star. Don't you really expect her to say, "Tiffany is sponsoring my exit."

So much for any fights reminiscent of Godzilla versus Rodan.

as an avid tivo-er of the view, i was salivating at the mere thought of those two heifers going at it with elizabitch hasselblech as a tasty little neocon snack for the crazy one.

alas no.

You raise an interesting point, there, El. Liz is a proud Christian Bush-lover. Rosie a Bush-hating lesbian. Imagine the clashes!

If ABC is dumb enough to cancel Commander in Chief, they are dumb enough to realize that the Bitchfect 2006 cannot commence unless these two assclowns fail to hug it out morning after morning right before our very eyes. I know people say bitching does not equal ratings, but we aren't talking about bitching, we are talking about two HUUUGE be-yi-yi-eechs going to big fat head to big ass dino dome over morning miniutiae like Suri Cruise and the sponge. BRING IT!!!
